Job description



Establishing the overarching digital marketing strategy across core brand & DR channels including but not exclusive to SEO/PPC/display/VOD/Programmatic/paid social/affiliates/digital partnerships

Leading alongside other business teams the roadmap and content strategy across all virgin active digital platform channels – virginactive.co.uk website and You Tube channel

Driving brand awareness and value through digital marketing across all channels and platforms

Generating high quality sales leads in line with annual targets via digital channels

Contributing to campaign development ensuring overarching TTL creative strategy enables the digital creative design, build and assets availability across platform to achieve KPI’s

Responsible for delivering all digital elements of the UK digital media plan (including seo, ppc, display, affiliate, paid social and digital platform content management) in order to deliver effective and cost efficient plans

Reporting and analysis to drive business decisions and continuous improvement

Responsible for driving continuous improvement in the digital space

Responsible for identifying, assessing and managing strategic projects within digital

Responsible for release and crisis management across digital platforms

Defining and delivering alongside IT the roadmap for the digital platform development

Multichannel marketing support (eg. mobile, desktop, tablet)

Supporting retention and engagement via member facing digital platforms

In this role you will be responsible for leading first class digital marketing to Virgin Active UK across
digital channels (search/display/VOD/affiliates) and website evolution.

Your hours of work will be as per your contract of employment. A full time time
role would be 40 hours per week, (not including break)
Flexibility is required to meet the needs of our business..

Tasks

 Strong management of internal team (2xdirect reports), external agencies (circ. 4 agency partners) and key
stakeholders
 Be the finest example of a Virgin Activist and consistently role-model the highest standards of behaviour to
other employees.
 Ensure all employees understand and are inspired to work towards the company’s vision to become the
world’s most loved health club and understand how their role contributes to achieving this.
 Maintain a positive, productive working relationship with all Departments/Clubs and other employees. Help to
create an environment where all employees enjoy themselves whilst at work and make a real contribution to
the success of the Department and business as a whole.
 Recruit high calibre people ensuring the right balance between fit and skill and provide additional training and
development where required to address a skill gap in a candidate with great potential.
 Promote a culture of coaching, training and developing team members on an on-going basis. Ensure any
performance or conduct issues that arise within the Department are dealt with promptly, fairly and in keeping
with the Company’s people management practices.
 Carry out regular 1:1 meetings and fully documented Evaluates with each member of the team and ensure that
all employees receive regular feedback on their performance and have the opportunity to discuss their ongoing
development.
 Hold weekly Department meetings to ensure good communications within your team and to ensure they are
fully aware of what’s needed to do a great job and are able to be the best they can be at work.
 Ensure all Company policies, as outlined in the appropriate manuals, are adhered to and that all employees
receive the appropriate training to allow them to carry out their jobs safely and effectively.

Profile

We’d love you to have…
 Client and agency digital experience
 Experience in acquisition and retention environment
 Knowledge of DFA/Qubit and Experian tools
 Knowledge and experience of the Sitecore CMS

We can’t live without…
 Candidate with extensive digital marketing and digital platform management experience
 Digital marketing experience needs to cover the strategy, planning, implementation and reporting across both
not exclusive to SEO/PPC/display/VOD/Programmatic/paid social/affiliates/digital partnerships
 Strong agency management skill set
 Strong team management skill set
 Strong understanding of current Digital Marketing opportunities, challenges and solutions
 Track record of developing processes and quality of financial information to improve commercial decisions
 Awareness of technical systems challenges for a business of our size and composition
 Awareness of leading-edge analytics, as applied to digital performance
 Experience of large, multi-site or multiple product stream organisations in a pressurised environment
 Systems, infrastructure and control environment awareness
 Sound Excel & Powerpoint capabilities required
