Principal Network Engineer

Function description

Provide architecture, planning and design for EMC''s Global Data Network Infrastructure. Perform or direct complex implementation tasks. Perform technology assessment and recommend product and supplier selection. Perform requirements analysis and develop advanced telecommunications hardware/software solutions to meet business requirements. Coordinate and review implementations projects to ensure compliance with the global architecture. Review and recommend the implementation of network management and monitoring tools. May prepare and maintain operating procedures and associated documentation. Coach/mentor junior engineers and serve as a senior technical resource to direct and resolve complex and critical problem escalations.

Tasks

Plan and architect EMC''s complex global data network infrastructure.
Responsible for establishing project plans, budgets, schedules, and documentation of work results.
Collaborate with other engineering groups, readily share information with others, actively seeks customer input, may take responsibility for complex customer situations.
Contribute to process improvements, identify inefficiencies and develop policies and procedures.
Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
Interfaces with global carriers to assess new technologies and develop and implement data solutions.
Stay abreast of current technologies, serve as technology consultant, make recommendations based on knowledge and research.
