Pr. SAP Solutions Engineer

Function description

This critical Principal SAP Solutions Engineer position within Global Solutions Centers will have the responsibility to identify, design, build and test solutions in the GSC Customer Integration Labs that simulate real-world Enterprise SAP environments. The Solutions Engineer should have extensive experience in a production environment working with SAP and underlying databases as a Basis administrator on Unix and Windows platforms. The engineer in this position will be responsible for defining SAP data protection solution requirements, developing procedures, performing functional and performance tests, and documentation and presentation of test results.

Tasks

Interface with Field and Engineering personnel to capture real life Enterprise SAP Customer environments and create requirements documents.
Develop detailed test plans and build the test environment in the lab. Execute the test plans and document test results
Present findings to peers and Sr. management.

Profile

Extensive, hands-on experience with installing, upgrading, and maintaining SAP Business solutions on a variety of OS and database platforms.
Experience with Unix (preferably HP-UX) operating system, file systems and volume managers.
Strong working knowledge of Oracle database administration.
Experience with Windows and SQL Server.
Experience with AIX and DB2 a plus.
Unix Shell/Perl scripting a plus
Working knowledge of storage systems with SAN storage experience a plus.

Hands on experience with System Administration of Windows Operating systems, MS Clusters and Active Directory.
Experience with database load simulation tools such as Quest Benchmark Factory. Direct experience with Quest Benchmark Factory a plus

Ability to multi-task without compromising quality.

Good customer service and communication (oral and written) skills.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
