FINANCIAL LINES MANAGER (886.MM.flm)

Based in Antwerp, our client is part of a world-class insurance, banking and asset management group.

Function description

A prime opportunity as arisen for a high potential expert to start the financial lines activities nearly from scratch in Belgium.

Financial Lines coverages are designed to respond to claims arising from the numerous threats to companies, their directors and their management, including securities litigation, employment practices, fidelity or crime-related loss and fiduciary liabilities.

Responsibilities
- Starting the Financial Lines activity, with the support of the commercial team
- Under general direction, underwriting assigned risks
- Developing contacts with brokers, offer & negotiation, increasing the level of referrals to the company and developing new relationships; when a risk is submitted by a broker, analysing the full file and evaluating the risk; looking at loss control and risk management, and helping in evaluating the risk, etc.; foreseeing reinsurance
- Business development, making independent sales calls to market and cross-market products
- Technical writing of the policy
- Follow-up, involving changes in the policy, inclusion of new sites or countries, feed-back after a claim, interpretation of contract clauses, renewals, follow-up with accounting, etc.

Profile

- University degree (law, economics, etc.) - preferably university law degree or extensive exposure to legal matters in combination with financial analysis skills
- At least 5 years experience ; experience in a bank or a lawyer’s office is a plus
- Hard-worker, stress-resistant, proactive, entrepreneurial
- Business acumen, good maturity and business insight
- Language skills : Dutch, French and English (spoken/written)
- Computer skills
- Good public relations skills, customer-oriented
- Eager to learn
- Self-starter, sense of initiative
