SENIOR UNDERWRITER ACCIDENT & HEALTH (895.MM.ahe)

Introduction

Our client is a leading international insurance and financial services organisation based in Brussels.

Function description

Our client is willing to reinforce its team with a Senior Underwriter Accident & Health.

- Underwrite assigned risks with focus on complex GPA (Global Personal Accidents) and GBTA (Global Business Travel Accidents) international accounts
- Manage the country portfolio’s ensuring sustainable technical results
- Increase the company’s visibility on the market place by visiting brokers, prospects and sponsors
- Product development
- Focus on audits, compliance & process improvement
- Maintain and develop excellent contacts with regional office
- Maintain high level of local underwriting authority
- Assist the Profit Centre Manager in the budget process (P&L, estimates, ...)

Profile

- University degree or equivalent
- At least 5-7 years of underwriting experience, preferably in A&H or life products
- Experience in portfolio management; helicopter view
- Service and quality minded
- Good financial skills; accurate & numerate
- Good negotiation skills and communication skills (solid network)
- Hands-on, proactive, creative & entrepreneurial
- Courtesy, empathy and helpful attitude when dealing with external and internal clients
- Capable of fostering a positive and productive team ethos
- Stress resistant : able to work in a "busy" environment
- Ability to work in a matrix environment - adaptation skills
- Language skills : French, Dutch & English (spoken/written)
- Computer skills : feels comfortable using standard IT applications (Windows, MSOffice, Outlook,) and able to quickly learn new specific systems
