Function description

For a company in Antwerp we are looking for a software design engineer.

Tasks

# We are looking for dynamic, motivated and innovative young engineers for enforcing the ISAM SW development community.
# The open positions in ISAM SW are for realising our innovations and bringing new developments to the market in the following major areas of importance for access:
# Evolution to ever higher bandwidth required by new applications (HD IPTV, web 2.0) puts ever more demand on the performance of the access platform.
# The challenge is in the design of a software architecture to support the re-use of our application software on ever higher throughput access platforms, better performing processors and interface hardware.
# As a market leader in DSL we have a solid knowledge of access networks in a very broad customer base.
# We need software development engineers in order to bring our strong portfolio of innovations in xDSL technology to the market with a high level of quality
# The access platform is also evolving to support more sophisticated configurations, especially as a layer 3 network node.
# We are looking for people who have the drive and enthusiasm to understand the very details of a number of telecommunication protocols, translate this into an elegant software architecture, test strategy and eventually in high quality software
# Test and test automation are key in the process of delivering high quality software effectively to the end customer. Given our customer base of 190+ customers, which we serve with one single software baseline puts high demands on software quality.
# We are looking for people with a strong focus on quality and drive to detect bugs in our software, and translate this in a test automation strategy that enables us to maintain a high level of quality over time.
# As a SW developer you will operate in an international environment, interacting with peers in 4 different sites in Asia, North America and Belgium. There are plenty of opportunities for short and long term assignments abroad.

Profile

# Engineer/ master in telecom and/or computer sciences
# Knowledge of C, C++ is mandatory
# Interest and knowledge in telecom protocols (ethernet/ip) is an asset and/or
# Knowledge of real time operating systems, embedded software are assets
# Knowledge of Perl and /or Tcl are assets
