Java J2EE Junior Developer

Gudrun-E.com is a web application development business for the real estate and insurance sector. We offer solutions and services for both the automotive sector and the real estate sector. We focus on the strong integration of Business Process Management and the support by a Workflow Runtime Engine which efficiently navigates all stakeholders through a process.

Function description

Based on a functional analysis - made by the Project Manager and supported by the Java-J2EE Architect, the Junior Java/J2EE Specialist is responsible for the development from start to finish of the use cases assigned to him or her.
This means developing, implementing and checking it using test-driven development. Quality and ease of maintenance are very important. You also need to pay the necessary attention to good documentation and writing the required automatic tests.

Tasks

Specific responsibilities:
• Encoding, testing, debugging and deploying software and software components in keeping with the functional requirements.
• Ensuring the quality by doing enough (automatic) tests and writing the necessary documentation.
• Handling the questions, any problems that are reported and the changes following the functional or technical analysis.
• You are responsible for your self-planning. You will receive technical coaching and work in a small development team.
• A Senior Analyst/Developer will be your technical coach

Profile

For this varied position we are looking for candidates with:
• technical knowledge: Java, J2EE, XML, XSLT, JSP, RUP, UML. Knowledge of Hibernate, Velocity and Spring is a bonus
• experience with test-driven development
• knowledge of application servers (JBoss or WebSphere) is a bonus
• knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server or DB2) is a bonus
• knowledge of BPM engines (jBPM and WebSphere Workflow) is a bonus
• strong communication skills (for instance, with customers)
• team spirit
• result-oriented
• planning and (self-)organisation
